CNCLab.
G-code becomes visible.

A browser-based training environment for writing, reading and simulating CNC programs before approaching a real machine.

Understand the program before running it.

CNCLab combines an assisted editor, an operator panel and a three-dimensional scene. G-code is interpreted into machine states and motion, then translated into toolpaths and a representation of the remaining stock.

The project supports training, practice and preliminary checks. It is not a certified production verifier and does not replace verification on the actual post-processor, controller and machine.

One lab, four environments.

01

3-axis milling

Pockets, profiles, drilling and tool changes with 2.5D stock removal and orthographic or orbital views.

02

2-axis turning

Remaining profile along Z, chuck, turret, turning tools, threading, grooving and educational diagnostics.

03

Laser and plotter

Dedicated XY paths, laser power and kerf, plus pen-up and pen-down plotter motion.

04

Editor and manual

Syntax highlighting, suggestions, autocomplete, examples, block selection and an interactive G/M-code guide.

05

Rendering and result

WebGL 2 with Canvas fallback, view layers, remaining mesh, active tool and past/current/future paths.

06

Import and export

NC, G-code, TAP and TXT programs in; edited source and STL, OBJ or PLY component export out.

Modular by machine.

01G-code parser

Produces machine data independently from the interface.

02Geometry kernels

Compute motion, stock removal and the remaining profile.

03Renderer

Composes machine, tool, part and paths in WebGL.

Training and preliminary checks.

CNCLab uses geometric and educational models with stated tolerances. It does not yet include a certified B-Rep engine, full offset tables for every controller, macros or complete collision analysis. Production programs must always be checked on the real controller and machine by qualified personnel.
